Batista won the match at Summerslam by dq, and he doesn't get a rematch. I am probably one of the people who most wants to see him out of the title picture, but not by that kind of lackluster way. And how in the hell do you logically cap off a feud, even it is a Khali feud, with a dq on the second biggest ppv of the year?
Then last night the guys feuding for the US title win the tag team titles. Doesn't this sound eerily similar to a factor in the HBK/Cena feud that was utterly pointless? Or as TNA has shown us, putting one than one title on a person ruins a lot of those title's credibilities. How in the hell is this supposed to help a feud that really didn't need any help in the first place?

Summer Slam was not Batista's first opportunity for the title and not the last ---> Batista was in the tournament at Smackdown for the #1 challenger spot, and he was beaten by his friend Mysterio who's now the legitimate (and logical, i guess) #1 challenger.
If Batista would get a third or fourth opportunity against Khali, we'd likely see many fans complaining about how boring and desperate this is. But Batista has only lost by DQ, and because of Finlay. So he is not quite done.
In sum we might expect Batista to remain in the title scene and to feud with Finlay, while Mysterio fights Khali in a parallel david/goliath storyline. If Batista loses against the Irish David he could definitely be put out. Meanwhile if Khali loses against the Mexican David, we'd have a new champ. At best I would make one David and one Goliath win, then nobody feels too upset with that "wits meet strenght" theme.
MVP falls in another topic, though he was pointed out as one of the main reasons why the fans watch(ed) smackdown lately, so i don't believe that his title win is deceiving. To see him roll Matt out of the ring and get the pin, just so he could prove his point, was funny from my point of view.
Only if you complain about Masters/Palumbo i would say you are right, but Palumbo was having problems with his bike after the masterlock challenge, and this could lead to a talk between the Masterpiece and Palumbo based on the broken bike, and how stupid Palumbo looked, and how the Masterpiece could improve that.

I think Batista needs to be at the top in WWE. The Great Khali is not marketable enough as a wrestler, all he do is growl and do the Brain Chop and Khali Vise Grip on his opponents which looks really stupid. A Batista versus rey Mysterio feud is going to be interesting. The MVP and Matt Hardy title reign is interesting by the way and it is not illogical as you claim. I compared it to the Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels tag team reign which has the storyline that they can't also co-exist. This is a huge impact in both man's career. This will also catapult MVP and Matt Hardy's career in WWE.

Sometimes, illogical storylines were placed to add up more excitement. Well, we'll always know that come another PPV, let's say Wrestlemania, he will claim the gold.
