Is it possible through the correct meditation and mantras, in the right environment with the right kind of sounds that you can induce a 'trip' on yourself?

Similiar to acid or ecstasy, but all natural and you do it yourself? Is this possible?

I ask this because.. The other day I was up for 4 days conducting an 'experiment' of mine, and I noticed, when I turned on really heavy trance music, that my vision seemed to pulse with the beat of the music, and I felt lighter, and more light-hearted. Also to some point, my hearing was a bit sharper, when I talked, I mumbled, and colors seemed to react brighter.

Would this be a self-induced trip of some kind?

Well, have you ever taken LSD? If so, you would know whether you had a similar trip.
It is possible to achieve this without drugs, but you're going about it the wrong way. It doesn't work if you're trying to achieve a particular end... it just happens without realizing it.

If you are really in to this sort of things,I would most humbly suggest that please stop it.It may cause some irreversible behavioral changes in you, which may be harmful in the long run. What if you are not able to come out of trance-like state? If you wish to indulge in it still, then take recourse to meditation(non religious) and for that you have to go to a qualified teacher who can take you stage by stage with inbuilt safe guards in to the practice.Take care..

Well, let's see. You were up for 4 days conducting an experiment on yourself.

Let's use some common sense.

(4 days)96 hours * no sleep = sleep deprivation

sleep deprivation = (heightened senses + hallucinations) / personal experiments

Does that answer your question?
