is there a point to the space in between and to the things we do in this time? or are we just kidding ourselves to make it more bearable?

Unless we admit that we may have been created, then we are indeed kidding ourselves, in many ways, to make it more bearable. Once we admit to ourselves that we're deceiving ourselves, we're getting dangerously close to nihilism and nihilism leads to insanity or suicide.

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (philosopher, mathematician and Nobel Laureate)

"There is only one really serious philosophical question, and that is suicide. Deciding whether or not life is worth living is to answer the fundamental question in philosophy. All other questions follow from that." (Albert Camus)

But if we admit that our Creator may exist, everything changes. God must have put our great need for meaning into our human nature to get us to seek Him. So for those who don't reject God, seeking Him is our purpose.

If you are born you have to die.
Even earth is going to die.
So what about our legacy on earth?
So all this is not forever.
Which ever is not forever is not the truth its a dream.
Life is a walking dream.
Then the question raises then everything is changing nothing is forever.
But the logic says if we can experience change then there should be something which is not changing.
With out something stable for reference we cannot experience moment.
So the very idea of change says there is something unchangeable.

Then the question comes I don't have any individuality?
I have to die even if I dont want to?
Death is losing your identity as this individual.
In deep sleep when there is no dream also I forgot my individuaity.
But we are not afraid to sleep so we don't have to be afraid of death also.
Though we went to sleep where no mind existed we were alive.
In the same way even if this body dies I am alive cause I was never born.
I am soul infinite which is never born and never going to die.
Death is for the body not for the soul.
But a long as we are attached to this body we fear death and see no point in life other than death.
Life is a dream.
We don't have any logic in dreams so do life.
This logic is the minds game.
Yes you are right we are kidding ourselves so that our mind can feel happy.
So the ideas of life after death, heaven, hell all these are taught.
We are a small wave in the infinite ocean of GOD.
But tell me is the wave seperate from ocean?
No.
So do you and I and all others.
We may identify a wave seperate from ocean but it is always in the ocean.
So the ocean of GOD is always there and we are like a small waves which raise and fall in him.
But we are never seperate from him.
The problem is we identify ourselves with waves and feel miserable.
Try to identify yourself as ocean then you are never born and never going to die.
Death is for the wave not for the ocean.
And this truth can be experienced only through truthfulness and unattachement towards this little waves.
Even if we pray or don't pray the Ocean of GOD can never leave us because all this is him.
How can he leave himself.

But untill and unless we know the truth that we are the ocean and not the waves we are bound to die.

If you can't do it then hope for a heaven waiting for you and pray to GOd sincerely.

The people are not courageous as we think to preach us the truth.
So find it out yourself.

GOD Bless you.

I used to think the same thing. But there were tons of people thousands of years ago that wondered the same thing, and there probably will be tons that will wonder the same thing a thousand years from now. So, I suppose we are just a chain link in the process of life as a human species.

What is the purpose or point to the space in between a fly, turtle, pigeon, cow, fish, whale, or an ant in its lifetime? I don't know really. It seems like they are born just like us and just live their life as naturally or instinctively as possible. Maybe we are to do the same thing?

I am not sure if these animals also think about these things, but I suppose they just live life and maybe that's what we are suppose to do also. Except we have hands and most other animals don't, so humans are designed differently.

But I guess I would have to say, try to enjoy and life every single day to the best of your ability.

You know theres a very good answer that I found in a comic book. There was a debate between two superheroes, the Silk Spectre and Dr. Manhattan. The Silk Spectre was trying to convince Dr. Manhattan (a superhero with near God-like powers almost omniscient and almost omnipotent) to save humanity from a threat of nuclear Armageddon.

Dr. Manhattan was saying that humans are no more significant in this universe than the great occurances throughout existence. The Spectre's arguments were from man's limited point of view of himself thinking of his own self-importance. But in the end when Spectre has already given up, she said something about there being no miracles. It was only then that Dr. Manhattan realized that human life is itself a miracle. Its something so rare fragile in the universe. And for those reasons, it is worth protecting.

We are all miracles, and rather than despair about death, remember instead that NOW we are alive and this is a reason enough to celebrate it.

The point of life is that you have been priveleged to have one. The time you are alive is just a scratch on time in the life of the universe. Don´t let your life become a burden. Go out and enjoy it. When you get to an age when your body starts to slow down, don´t complain of old age because it is a privelge denied to many. Life is for the living. Enjoy it.

The point is we are given free will by God to decide to be saved and live our life as He intended and then when we die we will have an eternal home in heaven. Mansion, streets of gold, and peace forever.

I think one of the main points in life other than to die is to enjoy your life and have a good life but death is the end, after death, there are several explanations on what happens after death depending on which religion you are.

If your conception of existence is reduced to the material, life is brutal, short and without meaning. The question for you might be as to whether existence might illumine a transcendental reality that grounds our being and imparts a purpose to our lives.
