Dear Maria,
You have absolutely right as all of our friends who answered till now.
But if you want to see "the glass half-full" - as we say in Greece, all these people are tragically lucky because that disaster happened the time that all these bastards tricky politicians need their... vote! Think of, what would happen, as for the support which victims need, if we were not in a pre-election period!!! It is tragic and macabre. Isn't it?
Just another point of view, which is not against to give them a good lesson on Sep 16!

While most Hindus cremate their dead, not all do. For those who do, I've heard two trains of thought about this. One is that the soul needs to be released and if the body is not cremated, the soul may linger rather than continue on its journey. Another is that valuing the dead body by those who are still alive is silly because what made them value, love and care for the other person was not their physical body, but the spirit contained within it. That's moved on, leaving behind an empty shell called a "dead body". Also, Hinduism is most common in highly populated areas. They simply don't have the room for huge cemeteries. While decomposing bodies do make excellent fertilizer, I don't know of too many people in modern times who would simply bury their beloved dead naked in a field somewhere and then plant t he next season's crops over them.

Kalimera Maria....Nice question. I do not have the answer to the question since I cannot vote in your election. But my question to YOU is THIS: If any other political party wins the election, WHAT WILL CHANGE??? ANYTHING? Hopefully some day, somewhere, there will exist a politician willing to stand up for what is morally right.... Am I hoping for too much? Does such a politician really exist? Or is it just a figment of my imagination?

deep question,,,do they deserve support ?maybe its a time the people of greece speak out loud,,,we wont solutions not politicians,,,,,corrupted politics dont help save a country from tragedies,,they only add a burden when soltions r requested,,,greece is in a state now of transition ,,towards better ,,,so the politicians and law makers should be best of best....some is dreams ,some needs time,,but the solution is demanded,,,,,the problem may lie in ,,who to choose,,becoz the options r limited ,,but everything is relative,,,and who promise must fullfil or otherwise consequences ,,,best of wishes and prosperity to greece

I'm not the one to support the present Government for having handled the fires case in a good or satisfactory way.
But I cannot stand Giorgakis nad his party taking advantage of the catastrophe, hypocritically "forgetting" that they have been in the power for twenty entire years, and kept this country defendless of fires, of illegal change of use of forests (on the contrary, they did it intentionally), and that they never offered any assistance to the previous victims of the fires.
Therefore, before erasing everybody, let's also think of the gravity of the responsibilities of each party....

Politicians are just the real immage of our society, as they are elected by it. And here's what our society is:
1. The impostors hurried up to take advantage of the financial aid which was intended for the fire victims. You do remember that our father told you that it always happened, and after the World War II and the civil war any aid never reached the real beneficiaries but ladies dressed with furs would appear as such.
2. Acting under the same sick mentality, thousands of hunters invade the left overs from the fires and massacre all mamals and birds that managed to escape and found shelter there...Taking advantage of their panic and hanger..
So, we mustn't only blaim the ones who sit on the high chairs, but also the people of next door... Which are, as we say in Italian, una razza, una faccia...

unfortunately there are people who will vote for them again and again as long as the ******* journalists rule this country.
and there are too many others who believe their lies and their promises....but we must wake our politicians up and show them that we're not as stupid as they think and that we don't believe every ******* promise they make!
