I agree with Jackie. However it is worth pondering the meaning of life, for it is a philosophical question and, according to Bertand Russell,
"Philosophy is to be studied, not for the sake of any definite answers to its questions, since no definite answers can, as a rule, be known to be true, but rather for the sake of the questions themselves; because these questions enlarge our conception of what is possible, enrich our intellectual imagination and diminish the dogmatic assurance which closes the mind against speculation; but above all because, through the greatness of the universe which philosophy contemplates, the mind also is rendered great, and becomes capable of that union with the universe which constitutes its highest good."

We only can realise and understand the actual meaning of the life by our BRAINS/THOUGHTS and FEELINGS.
In fact the means of realising the meaning of life is our thoughts. And if our thoughts do not work properly, our realisation of the meaning of life is not correct.
So, in order to understand the meaning of life correctly, we should hold our thoughts in a balanced state somehow they work naturally. To do so, we should wipe off our mind from all the unnecessary thoughts and look at the life without any interpretation.

If you're religious, you're sent on a mission by God; he is judging whether you are good enough to get into heaven.
If you're not religious, like me--you are a person who will make something of life. It's like asking, why do people go on rollercoasters if it ends in 2 minutes, what's the point....the point is that it's fun! Life is a rollercoaster. Enjoy every minute of it and make the most of those valuable moments. So don't waste anymore time pondering about it. Go on. Live life. :)

"Higher" values
The above definition has been criticized as being overly reductionist, trying to reduce higher, "spiritual" meanings to mere biology. Although the concept of fitness originated in biology, its meaning here is much wider. It can be argued that our higher mental faculties and values are direct extensions of the general concept of fitness.
"Self-actualization", Maslow's term for maximally developing all our potentialities, and thus reaching the highest level of psychological health and awareness, is merely the implementation of fitness increase in the mental domain (see my paper on Maslow). Similarly, it can be argued that happiness is a direct sign that we have managed to improve our fitness. Thus, if people say that the meaning of life is to "learn and develop", "actualize our potentialities", "improve the balance of pleasure and pain", "enjoy ourselves" or "simply be happy", they are expressing a more limited version of the answer above (limited in the sense that it is more difficult to apply to non-human life, and does not take into account other aspects of life).
Have a nice weekend!!!!!!

Why does everyone think that life has a meaning. It doesn't!
Life doesn't NEED a meaning anyway.

The meaning of life is to interact with the still mysterious creation,
to boost creation thru one's own fiercy and cooperating will and skills and love of life,
to heuristically participate in, and also indeed transform or determine, the course and destiny of the World thru one's own virtues and one's own cooperating will, habilities and knowledge.

What is the meaning of a Black board or a white paper.
They doesn't have any meaning by themselves.
What ever you write on that will give meaning.
So is the case with human life.

Life just is. It has no intrinsic, or built in meaning of it's own.
All the meaning that life will ever have is the meaning that you give to it.
Looks like its up to you.
Love and blessings Don
