How could you keep the secret and still be best friends?
Wouldn't it come between you?
I agree it is a really difficult situation and your friend may not like you for saying anything.
I think I would tell my friend.
I wouldn't want them to be deceived like that.

I would say NO, keep your mouth shut. I say this ONLY because I DID see my friends wife screwing around on him. I in turn asked him if his wife was cheating would he want to know. He told me yes and I in turn told him what I knew. He thanked me and left. He never spoke to me again. So my telling him what I had seen, cost me a friendship.

For a best friend, who are few and far between, yes, carefully and comfortingly. (If that last word is even a word.)
I'd comfort them with whatever I know they like in times of trouble, and for a best friend I'd know about what those things are.

It would probably be a risk to your friendship either way, but I would definitely tell. At least, I would have honesty behind me.

Most definitely...i would tell he/she if they didn't come clean with my Bestfriend and tell them the truth...then I most certainly would...
