Registered Independent, so don't go there. But can you guys really have such short memories? The nastiest election-season stuff comes out of the Republicans. Both sides are a disgrace.

Election time? 15 months to the next national election? I guess scandals come out during election time because we seem to be in a perpetual election cycle.
And Vitter was a few months ago, and Stevens was last winter.

Very true. We saw it with Folley as well. The Democratic Party knew about the allegations against him concerning soliciting aids, but they held on to it for MONTHS until it was close to election time. That doesn't excuse Folley...or Craig (if the allegations are true), but it does show that morality or committing a crime is not what drives the Democratic party...just holding/gaining power.

We are not in an "election season." Primaries for the national election, if you are referring to the US, won't start for five months. The general election is 14 months away.
2007 is a year for local elections. No one has started campaigning in my town yet.

It is called "witch-hunts" , have to make others look bad by any means necessary to win, to heck with doing their jobs and homeland security, major issues etc.. just have to win. Getting more like middle school kids , than the government.
