Pretty much anywhere in San Antonio would be fine. I like the adventure of driving through a big city. I guess if I had to choose the perfect spot it would be near the Riverwalk though. Thanks!

A fabulous place to stay is the Menger Hotel in San Antonio, it is fraught with history. Very close to the river walk and the Alamo. It starts at $129.00 and is rated as a four star hotel

Drury Inn and Suites San Antonio at the Riverwalk, 201 N Saint Marys St, San Antonio, TX 78205
(210) 212-5200 is also a very good Lux. Hotel with a five star rating. A family of four stayed for $166.00 and that is on the River Walk, the amenities are great, this is a little bit more than your $150 target but it is right on the river Walk and there are little things that you will really like. One that comes to my mind id the free popcorn from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm

The San Antonio Area is hundreds of square miles, give us an idea where in town you want to be; downtown/riverwalk area, near Sea World, near Six Flags/LaCanterra, near one of the military bases, near the medical center, on I35N on the San Antonio-Austin Entertainment Corridor. After all San Antonio is one of the largest cities in the US, with several other cities in the metropolitain area. Where in the SA area do you really want to be??? There are literally hundreds of hotels that meet your criteria.

There are 15 hotels in the Riverwalk area, many meet your price. I have included a website so you see the hotels and their amenities for yourself. I am a San Antonio native, but the only downtown hotel I've stayed at is the Plaza. It is a nice hotel, within walking distance of the Riverwalk and runs about $159 a night. There are about 83 hotels in the downtown area. All are close to the Riverwalk and available to all downtown area by the trolley cars running around downtown.

See this site for hotels:

-LaQuinta near the convention center.
303 BLUM San Antonio, TX 78205
San Antonio Area: Downtown
$148.00 per night
0.1 Miles from the Riverwalk
0.1 Miles from Rivercenter Mall
2 Years old, so its almost brand new
14 floors, so you'll get a nice view if you request one of the upper floors (I did and they gave me a 14th floor room facing north)

This place has regular rooms and suites available. I'd definetly recommend you stay here. Call the hotel directly and sometimes the prices are better.

I enjoyed the Best Western Hotel on Loop 410 between Nacogdoches and Broadway. I prefer to stay in the back away from traffic with my room over the pool area. It's bed and pillows are so plush, and there are masks and ear plugs. There is bubble bath and some of the nicest shampoos. There is even a disk for you to play for a really relaxing experience before bedtime. The little teas in the room are for a more relaxing experience yet. I have never slept so good.

I live here, but I have stayed in a few hotels and played tourist in my own city. There are a lot of nice hotels downtown, but I have really found if you go in other parts of the city, there are some very nice places also.
