Yes! I most definitely believe in this rather than fate because fate implies that you are not in control of your life. Destiny, however, presents you with an opportunity, and it is up to you to decide to either take it or leave it.

Yes I believe certain things are meant to be and sometimes things happen for a reason but you have to make most things happen yourself.
