Well, Lisa, you must remember that to ask a question about banana-peeling in Arts & Humanities is just asking for long bouts of contemplative thinking.
The Literature buffs are thumbing through their copies of Henry Miller and D.H.Lawrence, the Philosophers are going into fugues about the existentialism of the act of peeling, the Acting buffs are looking for motivation and agents who specialize in fruit-peeling performers and everyone else in the section is either saying to themselves "What does she mean by that?" or "Is this a trick question" or "Shouldn't that be a Food question?"
Personally, I tear the tip off one end of the banana, then gently tear down the peel about a quarter section at a time, revealing the fruit and making it easier to bite into and enjoy.
Were I a gorilla, I would eat the whole thing, peel and all, and not worry about it.

You peel it and then weigh it. There are no calories, it's free food. As far as peeling it, bite the top off, (that would be the part with the stem thingy on it) and then just rip it open. Like a Christmas present when you were a kid..........

because perhaps people aren't looking to dive into their minds and find there own personal subjective thought. I.E in college they try to teach us to think objectively, so people these days are thinking more objectively and trying to answer questions with a correct only 1 answer question when the few people of this group answer these questions with opinion where there is no right or wrong answer but more like open thinking and let's face it some people in this day in age don't like to think. :(

"Why does it take so long to get an answer in this section...?"
Because most of these threads aren't in any of the Google searches...
