Mine was David Bowie, it was the hugest crush ever. Every inch of my bedroom had some sort of picture on it. I had a poster that covered the entire huge sash window in my room and one that was only 1.5cm sqare and every size in between. He occupied my every waking thought for about 2 years and his was pretty much the only music I listened to, at least on my walkman. Fortunately this was in the mid 80's so there was a lot of stuff to listen to by him. I thought he was divine. Had every book written on him, photos, all sorts of memorabilia. Watched every film and knew the whole script of each one etc, etc, etc. Bit by bit I grew out of it, but I've always admired his work.

Years later, when my daughter who is now 9 was about 6, I picked her up from school one day, we got in the car and she was unusually quiet. Bit by bit I wormed it out of her and she told me she had fallen in love, I asked her why she was so sad, and she said because it was someone she could never meet. I asked who, and she said it was an actor in a film, and then went on to describe Bowie himself in Labyrinth. I had never mentioned my crush on him and all the memorabilia is long gone, I couldn't believe it. I told her about my crush on him when I was a teenager and we spent the weekend watching old videos and dvds of his. She got over her crush when a new boy started in school, but we both hold a soft spot for him, don't know if its genetic memory or the fact that my girl and I go for the same type of man! Funny though.

Please don't laugh at a 'young at heart' pensioner! I had a crush on Lonnie Donnegan! Rock Island Line and all that! Mind you, at that time 'skiffle' was all the rage and then came the rock and roll years. I then progressed to Cliff Richard, Dave Clarke Five, Elvis and have loved all the pop music since. I still enjoy all the pop music around, so us 'oldies' are not so 'square' as you might think! I am also a Big Brother Fan and now it is over, don't know what I will do as there is not much else on TV. Back to Yahoo again!

My first crushes happened in '93... I don't know which came first.. Phil Anselmo (pantera) or Kurt Cobain. I just remember falling in love with them while watching their videos on MTV.. Walk and Heart Shaped Box.. I think... Many many rockstar crushes followed though..
