At present in cricket, India's performance is not good. Even in any series, that India won is not completely clean sweeped just like Australia. If Australia plays, it wins the series by 3-0 or 5-0 or 7-0 what ever it may be. WC-2007 is a good example for this.
But about India, it wins the series by 3-2 or 2-1 or 6-5 etc.
My question is , why India is not able to play like Australia in cricket? why the Indian fans are satisfying with Indian player's performance?

The question has boiled me up, as I am a great lover of game and I am from India. Reasons for bad performance...
1) we have a bad squard. We don't have reliable bowlers, batsmen & fielders.
2) We have never been good at planning-on the field, off the field
3) we don't have seriousness.
Off the field....
Just see, Apart from the current team, who are good batsmen, in reserve for next 5 years?
Since 5 years, weknew Kumble shall retire, why we couldn't train a leg spinner?
Now let us talk on the field...
1) game plan is never made. No one plays front-foot. It is not difficult to take a wicket against a back-foot player.
2) I have seen that max. variation in bowling is achieved by only Zahir Khan. Rest all are machine bowlers. The don't change even the side (over/round the wicket) whether there is a left hand player or a right hand player.
3) The throws from the fielders are generally towering. This take more time so susceptible to give more runs. Chances for run-outs also reduce.
I think I have vomited out enough. It's ur turn now!

i completely accept the answer of jjshroff. the only point that he missed is that Indian Cricket Team = No.1 in Advertisements.
All the players r looking at cricket as a way of earning money and that is y Tendulkar, Ganguly, Dravid, Kumble r still playing and not retiring. The ICC should remove these old guys and put in new young and energetic players.
Captaincy should be given to one of the young players so that he will b able to guide the team for a longer time and will have more experience in batting and in captaincy.

It is not winning 3-0 or 10-0 but even winning 10-9 will do if Indians r winning.

There is no denying the fact that Indians are complacent which leads to this . They feel on top of the world after winning one & in the process lose the next matches unlike Australians

Because of Dravid..I always thought Ganguly was far more effective as captain - He's a shrewd, mean idiot and he knows what he's doing. They need to bring Sourav back - and please tell him to shave his chest before he decides to take his shirt off!!!

u r right we should win by a better margin but aslong as we are winning we are doing fine
now we must win the last 3 ODI's or we are buggered
