Maybe you should get him something like a fishing rod or lures... i have the same dillema and i think that i am just going to give my dad some chocolate or something... he just went to a camping shop and splurged so i cant really get him anything like that.

make a card and get him a funny movie or get him a new hunting bow or hunting gun what ever you use to hunt with
