While collecting laundry in my sons room tonight i found a sheet shoved under his desk, apparently at some point he had a bloody nose at night and didn't want to tell me (not wanting to goto the doctor i guess) so his sheets are pretty messed, both from the bloody nose and from being under his desk. i usually use oxi clean to treat spots but since there pretty messed could i leave them soaking over night? the package says 1-6 hours, but will any harm come from leaving them longer?

I wouldn't leave it over night, if the marks haven't come out in an hour or so, i would rinse it in cold water (always use cold water on stains.. ) and possibly try again, or try putting peroxide on the stains that are left, put a capful or so on the blood stains it will bubble then blot it with a rag, and repeat until the stain is gone.. best of luck.

by the way, i hope you gave your son a big hug and told him he shouldn't be afraid to tell you when somethings wrong.

Soak them in cold water for 2 hrs, and add salt , the salt and cold water will lift out the stains. Then put into the washing machine . Use a 40ºc normal wash . Hang outside in the sun and the sun will bleach out any remaining stains the natural way

For removal of blood from cotton fabrics, you can use peroxide (I learned this trick from my mother's nurse), but I don't know about soaking anything overnight in any solution. Normally a couple hours is fine, then throw them in the washing machine.

Not a good idea. If the stain doesn't come out sooner it probably won't. Follow the directions on the package.
