I'm going to Australia next november and I have a stop in Tokyo, 10hrs between planes. What should I visit, eat or do in that time? Any idea of the weather in november?

You only have ten hours. It's over an hour, one way, to- and-from Tokyo Station on the Narita Express, so that gives you a little over seven hours to work with.

I wouldn't bother going all the way into Tokyo with only seven hours. After all, you'll need to repeat the process of going through security, and you might run the risk of missing your connecting flight.

It would be better for you to go see the sights in Narita itself. Narita is not just an airport, the airport gets its name from Narita City, Chiba Prefecture. You can see a lot in Narita in the Nine-plus hours you'll have, (you'll also be much closer to the airport, so less worry about missing your plane).

Narita-san Temple is beautiful, (I can say this from first hand experience). And it's less than half-an-hour from the airport. There's also a lot of shopping and souvenir establishments around the temple. Here's a couple of links so you can research stuff to do in Narita.

For things to do in Narita during long layovers:

For general information about Narita City:

Hope these help you out. Again, I have to stress that I wouldn't risk going all the way into Tokyo, (you run so many risks of getting lost and missing your connecting flight). So I'd stick to Narita City.

Peace.

1. Keep in mind that the train ride will be about an hour and a half each way.
2. The weather will be chilly but not cold.
3. Shibuya is a nice area. Good for shopping. Or I'd recommend the Imperial Palace in central Tokyo.

By the time you clear customs it will probably be at least 90 minutes after you touch down. You will want to check in for your next leg at least two hours before take off. So you are better off just to check out the sights in Narita city. Narita-san temple was big attraction long before there were airplanes and has a great museum of Buddhism as well. You can walk to the temple from either Narita city station. There are lots of shops in Narita that cater to tourists and airline crews as well.

Take your camera and go to the Tokyo Tower, eat a Fugu poisonous fish, buy pocki, photograph the freaky teenagers in wild outfits, look for a sex shop (if you are older than 18), go buy some original manga, look at the street performers and have fun.

kinda cold at that time. wear some long-sleeved shirts and have a jacket ready. go to shinjuku and immerse yourself in all things ultra-japanese. go eat some sushi and sashimi or ramen. most restaurants have models of the food outside their windows so you'll know what you are ordering
