They've been castrating boys and molesting them for centuries. Why did they get a pass once outted? would any other organization with such a long standing record of institutional child molestation not be shut down overnight?

They aren't very moral are they? In my state the Arch Bishop here was involved in covering it up and transferring priests from place to place, giving them more access!

I think I would be more comfortable if they got married and went to hell, than molested a kid and went.

The allegations were true and quit defending them. They are pedophiles and belong in jail! The Catholic Church has spent millions trying to keep this covered up, and they have paid off many victims!

It does no good to castrate them!

If you shut down the church, any church, you'd have to shut down the entire world. There's no need to single out one group when people in all groups are doing that, including parents. Some day you may become a parent, and they may come after you (whether the allegation was true or not). Put blame where blame belongs, it's the "person" and not the "group" or "organization" that does the abusing.

Since when does an organization become responsible for the actions of a member of that organization. Especially when the actions of the individual are in direct conflict with the principles of the organization.....

In addition I believe that you are incorrect about your general assumption that a 'long standing record of institutional child molestation' exists.

They have been castrating them? How did I miss that one. They need to be criticized for their handling of it but I don't think you can shut down religions. Something tells me you are likely not American.

That is really forward thinking, you are characterizing an entire group based on the actions of a few. If a conservative would have asked a question like this it would have been removed immediately

Right. Well, thats what you get when you insist upon leaders who promise to never marry.
