Typical teenager, both boys & girls, don't you clean it up,withhold money until you get your way.The worst threat is that you'll do it yourself & throw it out,but they won't believe you.Time for tough love, make him sleep in his pigsty & no allowance. In my case my Mom cleaned all the bedrooms, from the earliest age,so we knew not to mess up our rooms. However, the drawback is: to this day I can't make the bed properly!

Sure you tell him more than 100 times a day, waste of time. You want the room tidy and he needs to do it himself. First write him a letter telling him to get the room fixed . The sofa is for everybody to sit on and not for him to sleep on. Leave 3 boxes outside his bedroom door. Mark them 1, I love this so I will keep it. in to the box. 2. This has no value and is no good for anyone , so throw it away. 3. This is of no use to me , but might be of use to someone else , so give it to a charity. Tell him the room must be fixed as soon as possible other wise one day he will come home and it will be all gone . It´s the only way to get him to clean it up. Also he must get a lot off pocket money or he waste a lot of his wages , If can afford to buy double of everything then , he can afford a garage to put everything in it. Other than that throw everything out the window and make him pick them up

I don't know how old this person is but if he were mine when he came home from school or where ever he goes everything would be boxed up and in the garage.Leave the bed and chest If this was not acceptable he could find other living arrangements. I had to throw my son out of my house and it was very hard. He lived on the street for about six months. Good luck and God bless

Tell him if he doesn't sort it, you will. My son wasn't that bad, but bad enough and it caused tension in the household. I took matters into my own hands and went into his room armed with rubbish bags and cleaning products, when he saw me he freaked out and said he would do it, so I dropped everything, walked away and when I came back it was a marked improvement. I suggest you set up rubbish bags, charity bags, laundy baskets in the hall and sort as you empty the room. Don't worry, your son isn't even sleeping in there so you won't be disturbing him. He may even be like my boy and take over so you won't have to do it, just set it all up for him.

Give him a weekend to deal with it himself, & if he chooses not to, throw it out or give his stuff away. My sister was a SLOB when she was a teenager (her room was a health hazard). One Friday my mom told her that anything left on the floor or piled up in or on the bed, dresser, or closets on Monday morning would be gone when she got home on Monday night. She left a pile on the dresser, another on the floor, and stuffed the closet full. While she was at school, my mom got rid of all of it. She kept her room somewhat tidier after that.

Sounds like it's time for some tough love-he's no longer allowed to sleep on the couch and he can't acquire any new stuff until he organizes what he's already got. If he's slleping on the floor and can't find anything he should come around pretty quickly.

Well give him a large trash back and tell him to fill it up. If he does not tell him you will and you wont ask any questions. You can also give him 1 bag for donated items and 1 for trash. It works for for my kids because I will put stuff in a bag and get rid of it. This gives him a opportunity to make decisions on his own.

Withold the funds. I used the access to money to get my children to conform to the rules. If they wanted money for the movies, mall, football game, or anything else, then whatever we needed had better be done.

Tell him he has ten minutes to start or you're gonna throw it all out, and don't back down

TAKE A GARBAGE CAN AND CAREFULLY LINE IT WITH GARBAGE BAGS....NOW WHEN THE OPPORTUNITY PRESENTS ITSELF TAKE EVERYTHING IN HIS ROOM AND CAREFULLY PLACE INTO THE CAN....TWO IF NECESSARY....THEN MAKE HIM PICK THROUGH IT ,ITEM BY ITM,IF HE WANTS IT BACK IN HIS ROOM AND DELIBERATLY PLACE IT IN THE ROOM IN A SPECIFIC PLACE.
