My concern is all the pseudo-sites and the possibility he will download more than he bargained for. I just want to know if someone has had an experience or knowledge about the site to help make a judgement before he uses it. I saw on their website they had statistics about Napster usage and I wondered if they use information from scanned computers for research purposes or even more, ya know?

they're legitimate. They do want you to buy software to fix the problems the scan finds (if I remember correctly), but they definitely don't exaggerate the findings like illegitimate ones do.

PCWorld often provides discounts for their services in their newsletters so I know that they are trustworthy. (I receive a newsletter from PCPitstop as well but never paid for their services. I usually just re-install Windows preriodically.)

HouseCall by Trend Micro is a good one too. It's a reputable company and is totally safe.
