Your right, the new liberal term to try to make conservatives look bad is neocon. Liberal is already a four letter word in society and so they are trying to make conservative the same by inventing this new term and using it everytime they bash on anything conservative. Too bad it isnt going to work because majority of this country is more right of the spectrum then left and the only way the dems were able to gain control of the senate was by getting conservative dems elected in key races.

Even dems try to keep the label liberal away from them, yet republicans proudly call themselves conservatives. All you have is this pathetic attempt to invent a new term like neocon because your attempts to make conservative seem bad failed miserably.

I think it has to do with the fact that conservative is a badge of honor. Conservatives usually try to be accurate and clear when they say liberals. Why don't liberals use the term conservative? Probably because it doesn't bother conservatives. They would rather use an ill defined word like neo-con that is generally used like a pejorative on this site.

Instead you spew the anti Semitic term neo con. Liberals also work, Karl Rove, Haliburton and Bush into all subjects.

The right wingers and "mere" obedient loyal party-supporters are not conservative. They're not offended by the term "conservative" because you give them credit they don't deserve if you call them that. And they darn well know it.

Nobody uses the term "liberal" in any genuine way any more because people are quite "afraid" it is an actual political-movement of it's own (American liberal political-movement) that is not completely dead.

Well, the term "liberal" has historically had a negative connotation to it in the U.S., while the term "conservative" really hasn't; so when it comes to name-calling, liberals don't usually go for "You dirty conservative" first. They usually resort to using phrases like: "hard-hearted, selfish, greedy, racist, prude", etc. Terms that have a bit more oomph to them. Conservatives, on the other hand, think that calling someone a "liberal" is insulting enough by itself, so they usually just go with that.

I'm not taking either side here, you understand. I'm just explaining how the situation seems to me.

Because the word "liberal" is becoming a warning tag and rightfully so.

Actually the left has enshrined "neocon" as the offically evil-sounding tag name for us and it is used quite frequently if you open your eyes.

Fascist and/or Nazi seems a popular substitute.
And I use the title 'liberal' quite liberally when referring to the left...

Republicans love to make the word, "Liberal" a dirty word. Yet, in my findings, the word, "conservative" is a lie, a coverup for greed and a lack of morals. Republcians fear the press, so they have an agenda to make the general public mistrust the press by calling them the "Liberal media." Hogwash! It will get worse before it gets better. But when you have fools believing everything they hear, disbelieving anything that is painful, we have a serious problem on our hands, a problem that we all will pay for...the Republican Party has fooled the public and run up a 4 1/2 Trillion dollar deficit. Who do you think is going to pay this bill! Haliburton! I dont' think so!

probably because liberals are anyone who doesn't share the neocon's ultra-right-wing ideology, including moderate conservatives.
