In India, there are certain legal rights which both husband & wife both enjoy such as right to do legitimate sex with each other & bear legitimate children, inherited the self acquired property of each other if any of them die intestate i.e. without leaving any will or codicil regarding the disposal of their property after their death (the Hindu Succession Act & the Indian Succession Act), to be legally nominated in the insurance of either of them. Wife basically enjoy legal right of be maintained & provided with the residence (the Hindu Marriage Act, the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, The Hindu Adoptions & Maintenance Act, section 125 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the Special Marriage Act, the Indian Divorce Act, the Parsi Marriage & Divorce Act, the Sharit law concerning the Muslims, the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Divorce) Act, 1986, the Foreign Marriage Act these enactments provides her these rights based on her religion & form of marriage). She has legal right to enjoy her stridhan & dispose of as she wishes to. There exist certain matrimonial enactments such as the Hindu Marriage Act,1955 where even the husband can legally claim maintenance from his wife during the pendency of any suit under this Act or even after the final disposal of any suit under the Act, if he is unable to maintain himself to avoid the destitute condition due to lack of financial funds with him.

You really should have specified which country you are talking about, but I assume you mean an English-speaking country such as the US, UK or Australia.
In these countries neither spouse has rights "over" the other. The wife has no legal "duties" to her husband. Both have the same legal rights and responsibilities as any other citizen.
An unhappy husband can invite his wife to counselling, or apply for a divorce, but he can't legally require her to do anything.
Only after separation can a spouse (either wife or husband) apply to a court to require the other to fulfil obligations set by the court, such as paying maintenance for children, or complying with custody agreements.
You may not like it, but that's the way it is.

A Wife has no Legal Duties!!
A Wife Legally has rights on everything the man and his family owns/owned!! - And as a Man there is nothing you can do about it!!
A Man has no Legal rights except if she sleeps around you probably can sue adultry thats about it niether will she be punished nor will you be able to protect anything and everything you possess!!
Inside and outside Marriage its the Legal Duty to pay his Wife like how one would to a prostitute) for the pleasures she gave in bed!! Only difference is you pay a prostitute the fees that is decided before and after paying you can forget. Wheras in a wife's case she decides what you need to pay and you would end up paying life long!!
The moment a Man marries a Lady irrespective of her payscale you need to protect, provide for her. After marriage she would take her share from you from what ever you have save, made, will make and also a share of your ancestoral property!!
then to top all this there are Dowery Harassment and domestic Violence Laws that she would file get you and all whom she mentions arrested, bleed you of all your posessions and waste your life going behind the Biased, Curropt, Idiotic, Stupid, Spineless and Snail Phased Indian courts proving your innocense when your Wife enjoys with her s e x partner with your and your family's money and properties and enjoy the sadistic pleasures of seeing you and your folks suffering and being destroyed!!
What is it leagally that you need to know write to me - I am not a Lawyer but a would-have-been-victim to these legal issues!! - I saved myself!!

So, you're interested in playing the Legal Rights card, are you?
See what Vijay m said.
I would like to comment.
Those legal rights aren't going to get you respect and love. If you use them to dominate you are going to incur resentment.
Your wife is your Lifelong partner. I would recommend you get to know what her strengths are. (Weaknesses/Faults are always easier to spot, yes?)
You may be entitled to her physically, but you're getting an empty shell, and the short end of the stick if you cannot engage her emotionally.
She needs for you to treat her with Respect and Common Courtesy. Then she will Respect you. Once a woman can Respect her man, then there is a foundation for Love.
If she loves you, darlin', you won't Need Legal Rights....you can have Anything You Want...

1. Children, Dead People & Animals can not legally consent; so no matter how much you Pedo, Necrophiliacs and Bestiality lovers want it... it will never happen. 2. Most people can't handle one relationship let alone fifty; I haven't seen a single Polygamist relationship that didn't result in somebody being left out. 3. Defected genetics... 4. I'm all for Same-sex consenting sibling Incest with no age gaps I have two male twin cousins that are currently in separate mental wards because their mother found out that they where in a incestuous relationship with each other, they send letters to me so I can send letters to the other. I'm rather the only rational person in my family about this...

A marriage is what two people decide to make of it. There are no "legal duties or rights" involved. You sound like you're talking about divorce, not marriage.

Legal?? You're joking right. How a couple chooses to run their marriage is not the business of the government.
Obviously the basics like right not to be beaten or sexually assaulted still apply. Thanks to feminism! A few years ago, relatively speaking, it was okay for a man to beat his wife and it was considered not possible for a man to rape his wife. Men who hate feminism are not men you should even bother talking to. These types of men are either uneducated or simple worthless scum.
