I have gotten them too (since I was 15) and my doctor has told me that they are called "menstrual migraines". The reason for getting migraines/headaches more with the onset of your period is because of the rise in hormone levels.

If this is a concern for you, I recommend you speak with your doctor to have it checked out.

I get the headaches that you are talking about but when I do it's because of the barometric pressure. I've had this problem occur since I was 14 years old. As for headaches due to menstruation coming yes that can be normal for some women because of the rise in hormone levels but I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.

Yes. I have heard that lots of women have them. In fact, I experience headaches myself similar to what you are describing. And yes... several years ago, I didn't get headaches, and since the past 2 years, I have had such headaches. I generally take Exederin Sinus Headache medicine. Good Luck!

Some women do, some don't. Our bodies change over time and things we didn't have problems with before suddenly become problems. Take some ibuprofen for the backache. If it doesn't do the trick for your headache as well, drink a Gatorade. I don't know what it is about the Gatorade, but it works!

It's the hormonal fluctuations causing the headaches. Many women experience this before and during their menstrual cycle.
