A friend of mine and I usually chat on MSN, but I got upset a week ago and deleted him from my contacts list. I am still on HIS contacts list.

If I want to and add him back to my list now, will he know that I deleted him last week? I mean, will he have to 'approve' of me again?

You are already on your friend's list,so,when you delete him and re-add him he won't be notified that you are re-adding him on your list, you can add him without his permission as long as you are already on his list,he may know that you did delete him if he went to Privacy > View who added you on their list,he would not find your name on the list, then when you re-add him your name will be on that list.

Once you delete a contact they will have to 'approve' you once you add them back to your contact list. And remember this: he is not "approving" of you.... he will just have to approve of you adding his name to your contact list. If for some reason he clicks 'no' to that choice - then he's not someone you would want to chat with anyway - is he?
