Life, as we know it, is an excursion of our (incorporeal) self into a frame of existence so that we may broaden our sense of knowledge. The experience into a time constrained Universe bordered by the limits of imagination sets the stage for the next level of our spiritual Evolution... (I use the words Spiritual and Evolution only for lack of a better term to describe the real US).
The belief of reincarnation stems from this concept.

Your question presupposes a Creator/God for only God can answer what "should" I do with my life. Obviously, a mindless, natural process like evolution cannot and does not provide a "should" answer. Evolution cannot care whether you live or die or even reproduce.
This is the most asked question, by far, in the world so it must be important. I think God put our great need for meaning into our human nature in order to point us to seek Him, after all, we can't even ask the question of meaning without assuming His existence. Seeking God and finding God is what we were meant to do, it is what we should do, it ought to be our aim. It is the only goal worthy of our lives.

Life is for "the living". How we choose to live it and what we choose to make of it is up to each individual.

While you're living, you live for others...but when you die you live for yourself. Don't let anybody bother you.
