For example, cons believe that investing in the American people to help them work their way up (social spending) does not reduce poverty, but in fact increases poverty.
They believe this to be true because some college dropout pundit on the radio told them, but have they ever tried to verify for themselves if this was true?
Same thing with supply side economics versus Keynesian economics. Cons think it is written in stone that cutting taxes mostly for the rich, cutting social programs, and deregulating leads to better economic growth then shifting taxes to the rich and investing in the American people.
Why not go to third party reliable sources and see for youself if this is true or not.
I see alot of opinion on yahoo, but few people back it up with facts.

I've been to a third world country and for your information banana republics are known for being very capitalist. These are countries where corporations run the government.
America, Canada, and Europe actually happen to be among the most liberal parts of the world.
Just think of all the social programs and regulation we have in America that does not exist in the most primitive of third world countries.

Because if it is drilled into their heads long enough, then it will become true.
We have seen with reagan and both bushes that "trickle-down" economics is a load of crap. All it does is allow the rich to get richer by keeping the money. People who actually use their brain knows this is garbage. How do you think they get rich? They KEEP their money. So what should a conservative president do? Give them MORE MONEY? Are you kidding?
Those are the REAL facts...

You know, I feel the exact same way about the left. I see so many hate-filled leftist rants posed as questions (from the right, too, but more the left). If you dispute them or ask for a credible source, they'll sneer down at Fox News, but try to get away with prisonplanet, infowars, moron.org...any f*ing blog for a *credible* source. Just look at the "God damned piece of paper" story - even a far-left website says it's a piss-poor example of journalism:
*The source of this story is unable to verify the statement claiming "...I heard from two White House sources who claim they heard from others present in the meeting...". This isn't acceptable by any journalistic standards.
ISN'T ACCEPTABLE BY ANY JOURNALISTIC STANDARDS.
This was pointed out to me by an extremely liberal person, who is *no* fan of Bush's, but agrees that the lies are BS. Yet, it's repeated here over and over again. Even some of the saner lefties on here are starting to accept it as fact - and it all traces back to ONE man. It's really a pretty amazing example of the power of the Internet and the blogosphere, but that doesn't make it right.

It's not a behavior limited to any one side of the political spectrums -- in all groups, there are those who are willing to believe rhetoric with no proof, those who accept only the barest substantiation, and those who research matters more diligently.

Because they are predominantly religious, so they are already prepped from birth to believe based on faith alone. But they only believe what is convenient to them. For example, homosexuality is an abomination but destroying the entire earth is fine if it lets me fit more of my fat children in my SUV.

Why don't we just give this country to the third world countries or even better let your UN divide like they want to. Under your devine leadership everyone who earns a dollar owes two, those that take drugs and stay on welfare get the first dollar and the government gets the second. Ohh and if I fart I owe two carbon credits and can buy them from some starving Ethiopian.
