All capitalist societies will become communist, if marx is right about how these things will go, and he seems to be amazingly right on in his descriptions of how fewer and fewer people would own more and more of the worlds assets.
In USA, the top one percent of the wealthiest control 80% of the wealth! So don't boohoo for them paying 30% of the taxes - they're getting a free ride on our backs.
What's coming through the smoke of the war on terror is a fascistic police state. Please pay attention. You might be able to help in some way if you channeled your passion and love of country into an area dealing with facts, instead of drinking in the propaganda from fox, rush, o'reilly...

The US is now a proto-Fascist government, and it's headed towards a dictatorship. Prexy Bush has done his best to whittle away at what Constitutiona rights we have left. He has outlined a path to totalitarianism with his total disregard of law. and he has written executive orders that will move eiher him, or the next Prexy, very quickly towards total power when another major disaster or terrorist attack occurs.
These Right Wingsters here haven't figured out yet that no matter who becomes President those executive orders will be the foundation that takes the US the rest of the way. The gods only know why these people, over and over - time and time again, vote against their own best economic interests. Gods! Is keeping the gays from getting married, and their unfounded fears of losing their gu;ns and Bibles so important that they've given over THEIR government to Republican carpetbaggers???
I am not just spouting about crypto-Fascism as a perjorative. Prexy Bush's grand daddy, Prescott, was a real dishonest to god Fascist who supported Nazi Germany with financing and material support, and Prexy Shrub hasn't fallen far from the tree. Fascism lets you own property, but tells you how to use it - the rise of the corporate state = Of, By, and for the corporations and international big business and the"Ownership Society" only (rich people) isn't far away. BTW is your just a puny multimillionare, then you don't qualify as being rich anymore!...
Even though Prexy Clinton labelled himself a Democrat, his policies were actually those of a moderate Republican - a "Democrat in Name Only" (DINO).
So, close to 12 years of Bush-Clinton Prexies has brought a rapid decline in the prestige and world standing of the US to the point where 'Merca's role of the only remaining Super Power, who enjoys the status of having its currency accepted as the world's Reserve Currency, and one of the greatest economies the world has ever seen, is quickly coming to an ignoble end...
Well, Poof! There goes another ten points,....

while we may have become many things, communists are not one of them! we are definitely a capitalist society.
n. often Communism a theory or system of social organization in which all property is vested in the community and each person contributes and receives according to his or her ability and needs.
we are not communist. We screw over the poor and elderly who need the health coverage, and something like 2% of the population own 90% of the wealth. While yes, our country has issues, i wouldn't turn toward hunting out the communists just yet....

Not at all. It is becoming National Socialist. This government glorifies war, protects big business at the expense of regular people, and has put in place a security apparatus that spies on its own people. It appears to fear it's own people. And last but not least, this country had it's own "Reichstag Fire", which some say was deliberately done by the government, in order to fool the populace into accepting a quasi - dictatorial state.

Don't listen to Hidan - he's confused 1984 with Animal Farm. Animal Farm is about Stalin's destruction of the bolshevik revolution.
1984 is about us and England. Orwell wrote this in letters about his book - there is no doubt. And, if you read it, you will see he's writing about the emergence of fascism in the free nations of the west. Look around - Orwell was very smart and prescient.

No -- there is no movement or attempt to eliminate private property ownership -- which is the essence of communism.
We are becoming more socialist -- both with greater govt regulation of business and with higher govt taxes being used for socialist welfare programs.
And we are becoming more fascist -- with greater govt intrusion into private lives, less personal freedoms and reduced civil liberties.
But communist -- no.

No such thing will impede our evolving to solemn plutocracy.
We are close.
Don't lose courage in the purity of the market now.
Toughen up. Find your steel.
This is no time to slack back and go wandering and worrying blind. Bush's time is up. Don't let that get you weak in the knees so fast. You'll find that iron clad direction of your own again without Bush to light thight the way. He wasn't going to be the one to get you to your economic victory anyway. I know he's heroic culturally, but you sound hasty to see yourself in complete culture-collapse without him.

It's a long way from communist. It's verging on fascism, though. In some ways it's solidly fascist.

No it's not communist yet. But if America votes for Hillary (who was recently endorsed by Fidel Castro) then we will become a communist nation.
