It was really popular at the time. The song was rock. I keep thinking it was Billy Idol, but a search of YouTube has found nothing.

I think it was "cradle of love" by Billy Idol or maybe Crying, Amazing, or Crazy off of the Get a grip CD by Aerosmith

Maybe it was a very early Britney Spears video which was based on a Debbie Gibson video. Britney Spears did dress up as a Catholic school girl in one video.
