You are experiencing a short circuit, maybe a kink or bent wire on the charger.

you have a short circuit. the hot wire going to the light is being grounded before it makes it to the light itself. get you a wiring diagram and trace the wire "backwards" from the light back to the source of power. you should find where the wire had been cut somehow and grounding on metal. will take you a while to find it. if the condition was that the light just would not work at all it would mean that you have an open circuit condition. this would mean that the wire leading to the bulb has came unplugged or even could be a corroded connection. now if your problem was that the light would work only when it wants to and you had no control over it that would mean that you have a grounded circuit somewhere between where power exits the bulb and the control device (head light switch ect). i hope this helps you out

It does sound like a problem with the cell charger itself. To be sure, plug in another cell charger into your car and see if it trips. If you don't have another one, borrow one from a friend.
Absolutely do not use a higher value fuse that what it is originally rated for. There is a good chance that the wires will not be able to handle all the current that charger is drawing. You don't want to burn up your car.

tell them u want them to FIX the problem, or get ur $ back and go somewhere else! They may charging u for something u don't even need! I had a similar prob with an older car. looking behind the dash, two wires were touching each other, causing a short. wire was kind of chewed up, replaced it and it was fine. if a fuse keeps blowing out, check the wiring. hope this helps some!

Is there a problem with your cell phone charger that it keeps tearing up the lighter sockets? I also thought the cigarette lighter has a heavier fuse than 15A, but if that is what it is, then it should be good. good luck.

No, it is not normal but if the only time it happens is when you use the cell phone charger I would say the cell phone charger is not a proper fit and is shorting out causing the cig lighter to get damaged every time you try to use it. I would suggest a different cell phone charger.

Some cigarette lighter adapters (cla) that charge cell phones are designed to be placed into a power port vs. a cigarette lighter. It's possible that your cla may be defective.I would try to borrow a friends cig. lighter adapter and see if it works ok.

Have a look where the spark is but i'd say the phone charger is creating a short in the plug or when you push it in the socket is shorting.
