Yes, it can, I have had the pain with intercourse every time I have a cyst. Do you have any other symptoms?
I would recommend you go see your GP. They might have to send you for an ultrasound to have a look at your ovaries and to see whether you have a cyst. The ultrasound will normally show what type of cyst and what the size of the cyst is. Your GP might want to run other tests to rule out other things like STD's, PID, UTI and other infections.
Don't delay going to see your GP, the sooner you go the faster you will be able to find out what is wrong and they can treat it.
If you have any further questions about cysts and problems relating to cysts, please feel free to email me - the link to my email is in my profile.

if you are ovulating it can be painful. I think at any other time during your cycle, sex should not hurt. I think your body is telling you to get checked out. Go to the docs and make sure nothing else is wrong. Painful intercourse is not normal. That could be a warning of other problems down the road. Endometriosis could also cause pain,or STD.

Yup. I had a cyst which caused a deep sort of pain, almost like it was from my stomach.
But then again, there are a LOT of things that can cause pain during intercourse.
Talk to a doctor.

Depending on their size it's very possible but the only way to know for sure is to have this situation evaluated further by your doctor to see what they say.
