My toilet sometimes flushes fine but often does not and will overflow unless it is plunged fast enough.

Even when I dump a pale of water into the bowl, the toilet still will not flush unless I plunge it.

I do not think there is anything wrong with the toilet and am wondering if the plumbing may be the problem.

I have look into the common problems but cannot explain why it sometimes drains fine and other times overflows.
Is it possible that too narrow of drainage pipes could be causing this? Could it be that there is a vacuum buildup preventing the flushing?

The drainage lines were recently installed and so are clean. My concern may be that part of the drainage line may be too narrow at 2 inches.

I cannot explain why it sometimes flushes just fine.

This is symptomatic of an obstruction that shifts with the flow of water or temporarily catches and restricts the material being flushed.

You'll probably discover a toy or some small bathroom object in the trap.

You can try a toilet auger to attempt to retrieve the object, but most likely have to drain and remove the toilet from the floor flange.

Purchase a new wax seal ring at any hardware before you remove the unit.
Google "replace / install toilet" and view a couple of illustrations first.

Nice thing to do on Sat.
Good luck

NEVER use a chemical drain cleaner in a toilet

Do you have children? More than likely there is something in the toilet drain that should not be there. If you get a snake and try and clear the line you will find there is a toy or some object that was flushed down the toilet. One of the most common is the toilet paper holder, the little tube that you put the paper on.
Sometime you have to pull the toilet to clear it.
When I say drain I mean in the toilet its self.
Good luck

i think the priority is with the rest room itself. Older lavatories have been extra services to getting clogged while extra moderen lavatories are engineered to flush extra valuable extraordinarily provided that there is way less water used according to flush. extra effective than probably a clean rest room could preserve the priority. besides the fact that, in the previous you spent one hundred greenbacks on a clean rest room i could advise pulling the winning rest room to confirm it and the plumbing making confident there are no longer any hindrances present day. i could advise snaking it or working some water by using it while you have out. in case you discover something, do away with it, put in a clean wax ring, and reseat the rest room. If no longer, flow to Lowes or abode Depot and purchase a 'rest room to flow' and your subject will in all probability flow away. the only different means subject could be a plumbing vent that's no longer letting adequate air in to enable the rest room flush top. to envision that, merely climb on the roof and shine a flashlight down the vent to make confident the path is freed from birdnests or besides the fact that.

There probably is a restriction somewhere down the line. Try some liquid line cleaner for a while and see if it helps.
