Because they had better songs back in the days? It seems that every nu metal band has lost their "touch" for their music. And people turn to "old school" bands such as Pantera & Metallica. It's the same thing with Linkin Park. They get influenced by a different sound and they go with it, make their album and get different kind of fans and lose some old ones.

Because Fred Durst ruined the reputation of Limp Bizkit by messin around with Britney Spears, and performing with Christina Aguliera at the 99 MVA's. Plus everybody know that Wess was the real talent in that band and when he left because Fred was wack, he took all that was good about Limp Bizkit with him!

Because people are into disposable music & are always looking for something new. If they would stick with some past bands like Tool, Limp Bizkit, Collective Soul, etc, they would hear some pretty good stuff.

I wouldn't use the word good, but they did have two things going for themselves in that short period.

1. Commercial success, with one catchy and goofy tune.
2. Wes Borland - one of the best guitarist in the business.

Now they have neither and are little more than a punchline. Fred Durst was always better at being a self-promoter than an actual musician. Perhaps he should get back in the tattoo racket and they could give him his own reality show, Jacksonville Ink.

because they lost what made them good. they tried the old "evolving" cliche and turned into a different band. when bands do that, they alienate the fans and people start to think they suck. i personally thought their last 2 albums weren't very good. but i like the first three.

I haven't heard any Limp Bizket songs lately, but I've never really liked them. Are they still even a functioning band?

While I've never liked them, Fred Durst totally destroyed "Behind Blue Eyes", originally done by The Who. His version is so bad that I can't even listen to the original anymore and it's off of one of my all-time favorite albums.

Because people's tastes change from fad to fad. In a year or two someone will probably be asking a similar question about a different artist from last year/this year.

I think what it is with every artist they put their heart and soul into the music. People relate to them and after a few mill they say screw the fans. Yep that's our music hero's for ya.

Because it's nu metal!

I hate nu metal, but I've seen it happen with two other nu metal bands: Linkin Park and Korn. Linkin Park's third album is being bashed even by fans! And everyone doesn't like Korn anymore.

Because this kind of thing is happening, nu metal will die eventually.
