Judaism is a religion -- but Jews are also a cultural group because for thousands of years, jews tended to marry only other jews, which allowed there to be a genetic commonality sufficient to make it a racial genotype as well.
Hitler had some Jewish ancestry -- as did many Germans.
That doesn't change the facts of the Holocaust, or the fact that millions of Jews, Poles, Gypsies, homosexuals, and many other groups were all rounded up and killed.
