i have a dell inspiron 1300 laptop, and i was wondering if there are any possible upgrades to overhaul the graphics system.

Currently the adapter I run on this is as follows:

Chip Type: Intel 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset
DAC Type: Internal
Memory Size: 128mb
Adapter String: Intel 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset
Bios Info: Intel Video Bios

When I run some games and vids on this, it has a tendancy to lag a lot, and i want to correct that if possible.

Can anyone help?

there are possible upgrades but chances are your playing newer games that require more memory which yeah duh explains why your asking for an upgrade so there is but im not to familiar with the graphics card needed for the upgrade needed since the laptop is some what "old"..

Also as an alternative increase your laptops memory

If this is a troubleshooting issue then its most likely with your graphics accelerator which is in your desktops properties.

aside from the that, thats all i can offer in advice.

good luck.

If you are playing games what I would recommend is buying a graphics card.

First, check to see if your motherboard has a PCI-E slot, if not, check if it has an AGP slot.

If you have a PCI-E slot go to the store and buy a decent graphics card for that slot.

If you don't but you have an AGP slot, get an AGP card.

If you have both slots, get PCI-E... much faster.

If you don't have either ports, don't bother.. PCI cards aren't worth it.

My brand loyalty is with Nvidia, they give a lot of bang for your buck.
Try a GeForce 6200 or above.

Upgrades to laptops are very limited. Check with Dell.
