I live in a 2 story house and my fish tank is upstairs but I would like to move it downstairs to the living room. What is the best way to move it? The fish tank is a 29 gallon.

Remove as much water as possible, keep in reserve. It's going to be really heavy, thus the need to remove at least 75% of the water.

Set it up downstairs, add the water back to the tank and start it up. You may want to do a water change about a week later, and change the filter material the day after re-setup.

Watch for signs of stress in your fish.

If it's not too great a distance, you can remove some of the water and carry it to its new destination. However, don't dump it out unless you're planning to clean the tank. Just put the excess water in containers and pour them back into the tank when you're done. If you're careful, you don't even have to remove the fish.

Take the tank , get a large bowl or something stick some water in the bowl, stick fish in bowl & carry the tank downstairs, you may have to drain some water. Best of Luck!
