I was watching a documentary on TV about how relatively rampant child porn has become online and it hit me... I surf the internet all the time and out of all the millions of popups and pages we are redirected to, not once have I seen a child porn popup (I'm sure it would have left enough of an impression for me to remember..)

I'm not about to go looking for it... but it got me thinking. Does the US block child porn on the ISP level or am I just lucky enough not to see it?

Don't mistake me for questioning your response. You appear to be something of an authority on this due to your research. Any chance you remember your sources detailing the legalities of seeing it and downloading it?

I could have sworn I remember reading from a credible source that ISPs block known child porn sites, but I guess I could be wrong.

You are lucky I did a research paper on this in college and you would be amazed at how simple searches can reveal a very disturbing world. Be very thankful and if you ever do come across one report it to the FBI or some agency. The sad thing is it is not illegal to look for it just illegal to down load it or save it to your computer or print it out. It is a sad and twisted world we live in.

you're just lucky, US or ISP can't block it because its 1st amendment and freedom of speech, its parents job, to protect kids from porno. Also there few good programs that filter contents.

Since it is unlawful to host/show/display child pornography, you are not going to see any popup advertisements. I'm sure it's there, somewhere.
