How do I repair table?

My brother was painting a modle car and the cat knocked over the bottle of paint thiner and now the tables glossy finish is ruined. Is there something I can buy at the store to rapair it?

You need to wipe the rest of the top with paint thinner to get all the gloss off. Then after it's dry lightly sand with a 220 sandpaper. Make sure you wipe all dust off the top with a clean dry rag. Most tables have a high gloss Polyurethane but you will have to decide what sheen to use. I prefer the spray can its fast drying. After it dries very lightly sand with clean 220 grit sand paper with the grain of the wood. Wipe off dust and apply another coat. Repeat above steps until you get the shine you want.Sanding after it dries helps the next coat stick better. Always sand with the grain of the wood.

The best way to fix this is to strip the whol table and refinish.

If you attempt to do a [atch job, you will always see the damaged area and may make it worse.
