~ Their debut album, "Appetite for Destruction" is multi-platinum

~ Their ex-guitarist "Slash" is a rock/guitar LEGEND

~ Axl Rose was the cause of the band's breakup due to the fact that he was so wild and would show up to shows hours late, or not at all. Slash was attributed to being wild, too, but he took care of his responibilites.

~ Their albums are "Appetite for Destruction", "GN'R Lies", "Use Your Illusion I", "Use Your Illusion II", "The Spaghetti Incident?", and "Chinese Democracy", which has yet to be launched. [I think I covered them all...]

~ The band's name came from the collaboration of members from 2 previous bands: LA Guns and Hollywood Roses

~ The band NOW consists of original singer, Axl Rose, and several other little-known band members, but the cast that made the band famous, including Slash, has now moved on to form "Velvet Revolver".

~ Axl Rose once punched Calvin Klein

~ In another incident, Axl punched a man for calling him a "Bon Jovi look-alike".

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, man. hope this helps! Also...

~ I attended an '06 show in Minneapolis, MN. Unlike how they used to be, they showed up on time and played for 3+ hours. It was a VERY good show. I think they can be trusted to put on a show once again.

Their one of my favorite bands, second only to Zeppelin. They defined Hard rock/hair metal in the late 1980's and 1990's. Their first album Appetite for Destruction, was an awesome album, then the Use Your Illusion I/II were ok along with G N R Lies. But more recently, their albums are kind of got worse, after The Spaghetti Incident? they kind of fell apart, forming their own bands, the only one who made success after Guns N Roses was Slash with Velvet Revolver. There has been talk of a new Guns N' Roses album called Chinese Democracy, however it might be dropped considering it has been in production for a long time.

Essentials:
Welcome to the Jungle
Paradise City
Sweet Child O' Mine
November Rain
Civil War
Patience
Don't Cry

Some of my faves:
Rocket Queen
Perfect Crime
You Could Be Mine

well, guns fire bullets and are commonly used in violent fashion and roses are flowers common thought of and given for romantic occasions.

but seriously, GNR is a metal band from los angeles, forming from the members of L.A. Guns and Hollywood Rose (hence the name) members Duff Mckagen, Izzy Stratlin, and Steve Adler then those members added guitarist Slash, and vocalist Axl Rose. the bands debut album Appetite For Destruction became the highest selling debut album of all time selling more than 16 million copies. the bands best known for the songs Welcome to the Jungle (about Axl Roses experiences first arriving in LA) and Sweet Child o' Mine (about Axl Roses then girlfriend, also well known for its guitar intro) both songs appear on Appetite For Destruction. the band released 4 other albums GN'R Lies, Lose Your Illusion I, Lose Your Illusion II, and the Spegehtti Insident, which all racked up many hits. the bands fifth studio album Chinese Democracy has been in the works for over ten years, and some assume that the album will come out after China has a democratic government, thus making the album lose its irony. some of the band members including original members Mckagen and Slash with a later drummer Matt Sorum started the super group Velvet Revolver, which also features Stone Temple Pilots lead singer Scott Wieland, the band has released two albums to date (Contraband and Libertad respectively). The Current GNR line only has one original member, Axl Rose who has gotten a reputation of being an @sshole (particularly in some cities such as Philadelphia). this @sshole tag has come from poor clothing, hair, dancing, public appearence, and musical decisions.

They used to make a huge success in the 90's. But later the lead singer (Axl Rose) and the guitarist (Slash) had a a fight and broke up the band.

With the breakup Axl got the name of the band, that exists till today and Slash got a new band, Velvet Revolver.

They had a lot or hit songs and performed in a lot of countries.

Some of their most popular songs:
Sweet Child O' Mine
November Rain
Don't Cry
Knockin' On Heaven's Door
Patience
Welcome To The Jungle
Since I Don't Have You

It's likely the real reason "Chinese Democracy" hasn't been released after more than 13 years is that it's bad and Axl Rose knows it. Interestingly enough, the band Velvet Revolver, which consists of three former Guns N' Roses members, has already released two albums, both to critical acclaim.

Had a nice guitarist called Slash. He wasn't too skilled, but he could create nice melodies.

Axl Rose's name rearranged spells Oral Sex. And he's pretty much an asshole, but he can hit some high notes.

They're debut album Appetite For Destruction is considered one of the greatest albums ever. Everything after that was generally acclaimed, but not named one of the greatest.

They're trying to release a new album called Chinese Democracy which has cost several million dollars to produce and has taken them thirteen years. They've lost their lead guitarist and everyone else except Axl. I bet it will suck.

Great rock band...could've have been much more if Axl wasn't an idiot. Fortunately, Velvet Revolver's out there creating some decent rock music with guitarist Slash and bassist Duff.

Best songs...Paradise City, Welcome to the Jungle, Don't Cry, November Rain, Nightrain, Sweet Child O Mine
