With standard lug nuts, they are very easy to steal.

Thieves can get them all off in under 5 minutes.

I would advise getting the locking lug nuts if you're planning on spending that much.

Yes they are. Invest in a couple a sets of McGuard locking lug nuts. One set will slow them down. Two sets might be enough for them to move on to an easier car. And don't leave the keys in the car.

Unfortunatly, You are liable for the car payments. I don't think the police will help you as you gave the other party permission to take the car. I had the same issue with my friend, the police said it was a private matter !! I had to locate the person and take them to court to get my car back ! Maybe the laws in your State are different? Report it to the lien holder ASAP !! They have ways of finding cars that we don't have. You may in some trouble with the lien holder as it is illeagal to transfer ownership of your vehicle ( becuase it's not your vehicle till the note is paid ) without the consent of the lien holder. You may have charges filed against you by the lien holder in addition to amount of the note. Try to locate the person's address and take your agreement to the police, they may go help you retrieve your car in a safe manner, good luck my friend !!!

yes they are very easy to get,and it happens all the time too,i,ll tell you how they do it most of the time, late at night they sneak in under the vehicle and place blocks in under it,with wood on top of them, almost up to the axles, then loosen the valve stem cores, and let all the air out, then all that has to be done is the nuts removed and the wheels and tires just fall off, your left with a vehicle setting on blocks, the reason i know this is we did a study on how easy it was to do this, and i won with that answer, its the oldest way there is for getting rims and tires, and it wont even set a good alarm system of either, good luck.,,PS,most thieves who do this have a good collection of keys for wheels from a junk yard, and to them locking wheel nuts just take a little while longer, that's all,it wont stop them.

it all depends. on how many people, how good they are, what kind of neighborhood it is, time of day, alarm on car sensitivity I mean it doesnt have to be a bad neighborhood to get them stolen. because if your neighborhood traditionally doesnt have much crime, more then likely it will be easier for them to get stolen because no one will really be looking out for that to happen. but usually it takes awhile to get your rims stolen. why dont you just buy a car cover, that way no one will know what kind of rims or what kind of car you have unless they live in the neighborhood. it might help too.

very easy. you jack up the car, take the wheel off, put a block of wood to support the weight, remove the jack, move to the next wheel. only takes about 5 minutes of less.

best bet, get an alarm system that's sensitive to movement

Thieves usually spray the lock nuts with a type of dry ice and simply snap them off. What I did with mine is to buy four sets of lock nuts and put one of each on each of the wheels. Thieves do not want to take that much time to get the wheels off. They want to get in and get out quick.
