Depends on your analysis. NO2 will dissolve in water to form a weak acid. NO won't. NO is magnetic, NO2 isn't.

NO is a colourless gas which reacts with oxygen to form NO2 which is brown. So the moment you expose NO to the air you get a pungent-smelling brown gas.
