A happy married couple is better off than single and unhappy. Happy single people are better off than unhappy married couples. Happiness isn't only for the married or the unmarried, the same with unhappiness. Life is unpredictable, and has no guarantees. You got to make the best of what you've got and that will be a better predictor than any statistics. You have the power to be at either end- numbers don't. As to answer your question, the best choice is to do what makes you the happiest.

IF you are willing to communicate with a spouse, not hold things back, forgive little insignificant bad habits, Love unconditionally, then marriage is better... I have been single now for the last 27 YEARS (divorcing when my son was 2 years old)... being a single parent was THE WORST.... financially, socially, and being alone every night was not my idea of a good time.... HOWEVER, I sure didn't have any arguments in all that time... and once my son was old enough, life got better---although I learned more about BERT AND ERNIE then I dd about life outside a kiddie show...but my son and I are VERY close and I would NOT give that up for anything!!!.... but, now my son is 29 and well on his own and nights again are lonely.......I sometimes wish I had someone to grow old with... to share a life with... To die next to. I will be alone for that as well.. My mom is still married to my stepfather after 35 YEARS and still very happy and very much in love with each other---I WISH I could have had that for MYSELF but it was not meant to be. Married or single? Right now I'd take married...golden years might be so much more golden with someone to share them with.... if I were 30 again, I'd say SINGLE....

Marriage is a partnership for the purpose of establishing a family. If you want to do that, it is better to be married. If you don't want to do that, marriage is kind of unnecessary.
Barring abuse, marriages end in divorce because the individuals should never have considered having a family and are deluding themselves and damaging their children.

it depends on what you want in your life and how much love you are willing to give others...i know that a lot of people get divorced, but there are just as many that have many married for a very long time...it just depends on what YOU want =}

Single -- the fear of commitment.
Married -- the fear of being alone.
If you address your fears, both choices are a reality.
