Should the US legalize the use of Marijuana? Why? Why not?
Simple question but it usually comes with many complicated answers.

My opinion on it is that it should not be legalized. Mostly because people will begin to do stupid things with it such as driving with it or some joker is smoking it and walk in front of a car. I think of it like drinking and we all know how people "respect" those laws. If we keep it illegal and people continue to smoke it in the privacy of their own home then not too many bad things will happen.

Plus look at young people and drinking, they want to get sh**face drunk when they go drinking on a regular basis just think if pot was available with such ease as alcohol is.

Well thats just my opinion on it but I'd like to hear what others have to say.

You obviously dont liv ein the US, pot is much easier to obtain than alcohol, especially to someone under 21.

So, you are OK w/ alcohol being legal, which is physically addictive, causes black outs, can kill you, and completely impares all of your senses, where as pot just makes you lazy and eat alot . . .
No one is going to smoke pot and acidentally walk into traffic, you would have to be that dumb to start with. I guess youve never been stoned either.

Pot is harmless, it does more good than harm, and no one is out there robbing and killing for pot. If it werent for marijuana i wouldve slit my wrists or died of sleep deprivation years ago. I assume you are all for people getting on zoloft or taking sleeping pills, id rather smoke.

i say no simply cause it destroys brain cells and adds to birth defects and other bad behavior.when people are under the influence of alchol or drugs it changes their perspective and they often make delinquent criminal choices.it is not a good idea because some people have highly addictive personalities and would soon become bored of pot and would need a bigger high like meth or heroin.drugs kill people plain and simple!! sometimes from overdose or accidents or suicide and sometimes because the person gets AIDS from having unsafe sex while under the influence of drugs or booze.there is no good reason for any person to be drunk or high every weekend or every day!!! it is no way to live!!! good luck.

Yes. It is a drain on the penal system and can be legalized for tax purproses. Treat it like alcohol. Crime , also, will drop.
