Do you like the song? Do you like them in general? If so, what's your favorite CD by them? Was Stadium Arcadium any good?
I think they're not a bad band. I've never purchased one of their albums. But I like this song. A LOT. I don't know all of the lyrics yet (don't know if I ever will) but it's just so chill. You know? Very calm. Kinda moody. I think it's great just because of that!

I like this band alot too, stadium acradium has some good songs too, but there are a couple similar songs in the californication album too; like road trippin'. The song "Stadium Arcadium" also has a similar sound. I think its a band worth listening to.
Id give the song probably a 8 and the band a 9.

Good song, good meaning, good guitar, but not their BEST guitar...certainly awesome lyrics.
I LOVE RHCP, they're my favorite band. Favorite CD hm...Bloodsugar, californication, and Stadium Arcadium was awesome!!!!!!!! i dont' care what anyone says, some people judge them by the radio singles but there's a lot of funk and rock on that cd. I'd give them a 10. I would definitely check out more of their music because yea Californication is a great song but they have better ones

I prefer Californication as their best album. Some of the songs, in particular the regular album tracks, were okay. Some non-singles I liked from the album were "Emit Remmus" and "Get On Top". I think "Porcelain" was just way too out of place.
Some say Blood Sugar Sex Magik is better, and maybe that's true. But I don't prefer rap. Since they're a funk-rock band, I guess rapping, as long as it isn't too gangsta-like, is okay, but I just don't like it.
The song "Californication" is a great song. It's a more calm song, but if you listen to another song from the album, say "Around The World", it's way heavier.
Stadium Arcadium is just way too melodic. It was still a strong seller, but I only liked a couple songs, namely Dani California, Tell Me Baby, Torture Me, and Stadium Arcadium. The other singles were okay to listen to, but most of the other stuff wasn't that good.
For the song, I'd give it a 8 out of 10. John Frusciante proves his skills, but it doesn't sound much like RHCP. As for the band itself (and this is coming from someone who likes classic rock and 70's funk), I'd say the band would get a 7/10. But seriously, they're one of the best modern bands out there. Anthony Kiedis is improving his singing, John Frusciante is believed to be the modern "Jimi Hendrix", Flea takes heavy influence from Bootsy Collins, one of the greatest bassist to ever live, and Chad Smith has a unique drumming style.

The song is definitely one of the best they've ever done. Top notch lyrics and music all around. Californication was the album that first got me into the Chili Peppers, so I would say that it is my favorite by them, and I have pretty much everything they've ever recorded.
In terms of rating, I give them a 9/10. Definitely one of my favorite bands of all time, and few come close to them in my opinion.

I like the song "Californication"
I'm not a huge fan, but I like their music.
As far as favorite CD - I'm good with their "Greatest Hits" - Stadium Arcadium wasn't as good as I'd hoped.

they are pretty good.. i love californication.. i have the CD by the way.. i'd rate about a 8 1/2.. stadium arcadium from the songs i've heard it's good.. i think dani california nad snow are really nice..

9.7/10...one of the best bands out of the 90s.
Blood Sugar Sex Magik's their best album...had to amplify the tracks though. Songs like Suck My Kiss make the album great...soon to be a Guitar Hero III playable track!
As for Californication, great song, great album...However, I liked By The Way better.
Their old stuff from Uplift Mojo and Mother's Milk are kickass and deserves more attention.
Finally...Flea is a music god. One of the best bassists ever.
