Yes, I found it hard to believe as well, but just wanted to see if anyone else heard about it. I wasn't saying I did or did not believe he said it, just investigating. But some of you are saying you can't see bush saying this--but there is video of Bush calling a report a major "Asshole" and giving the "one-finger victory salute" to a camera. Remember, the good-born-again-christian Bush you see on T.V. is not the real George Bush; mediated reality (i.e. the way we see things as presented through mainstream media) is not reality at all. It's all a PR job. The people you see on T.V. are people too, with all the same hopes, fears, wants, and drives as the rest of us. So to dismiss the claim because it seems to outrageous is not a good reason--however, it does appear there is little lack of support for it actually being said.

He's botched everything else historical, so why should this be any different.
The man has no respect for anything except the almighty dollar, oil and power.

No. I have asked for a *credible* source for this, and apparently, it was all started by one guy with incredibly poor journalistic standards. (Yeah, I know! I was shocked, too!)
According to a very liberal website:
The source of this story is unable to verify the statement claiming "...I heard from two White House sources who claim they heard from others present in the meeting...". This isn't acceptable by any journalistic standards.
~*~*~*~
But a lot of the libs on here will act like prisonplanet, moron.org, etc are "credible" sources. The only mention in the MSM I was able to find was a Keith Olbermann clip where Olbermann and some other Dem are talking about it. I have yet to see PROOF that this happened, but it is widely accepted as fact.

I do agree that Bush has skipped over and disrespected our shape (unlawful wiretaps, subjugation of the Justice branch, torture, etc.). despite the fact that, I even have serious doubts relating to the credibility of that "piece of paper" assertion. i attempted to confirm it, previous the Capital Hill Blue article, by looking domains of mainstream media information aspects, Democrat and Republican events. not something... apart from blogs that gave the impression to be repeating the Capitol Hill Blue and one yet another. I could desire to think of that if Capital Hill Blue, or specifically Doug Thompson, replaced into deemed a respected source by mainstream media, they could have run the story. Now inquire from me if i think of Bush has violated the form and dealt with it AS a *** piece of paper, and that i will supply you my opinion on that, sponsored up with credible aspects! :-)

Bush on the Constitution: ‘It’s just a goddamned piece of paper’

Last month, Republican Congressional leaders filed into the Oval Office to meet with President George W. Bush and talk about renewing the controversial USA Patriot Act.
Several provisions of the act, passed in the shell shocked period immediately following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, caused enough anger that liberal groups like the American Civil Liberties Union had joined forces with prominent conservatives like Phyllis Schlafly and Bob Barr to oppose renewal.
GOP leaders told Bush that his hardcore push to renew the more onerous provisions of the act could further alienate conservatives still mad at the President from his botched attempt to nominate White House Counsel Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.
“I don’t give a goddamn,” Bush retorted. “I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way.”
“Mr. President,” one aide in the meeting said. “There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution.”
“Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” Bush screamed back. “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!”
I’ve talked to three people present for the meeting that day and they all confirm that the President of the United States called the Constitution “a goddamned piece of paper.”

no, it is an urban legend. ( blogs are not ligitimate news sources as many pretend them to be.) if he had said this, it would have made front page news in every paper in the nation. use a little common sense.
coragryph: i use to think you credible but your post of your opinion of what you think someone might or could say leaves me in doubt now. you stated that you are a minister and a lawyer, i guess i would expect both of wanting to let truth guide them.

He has said a lot of stupid things so he probably did that right after the infamous nose picking fiasco that was caught on tape. There are a lot of Bush bashing sites on the web where you can read his stupid Bushisms and you will wonder how he ever learned to brush his teeth, let alone rule a country.......just google Bushisms and you'll see it is hillarious.

No, he did not say it.
The story was first published on a Washinton D.C. website that deals with gossip, among other things. (National Enquirer also deals with gossip). Later, the story was pulled by the publisher. The link was down and then it was brought back. http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/publish/article_7779.shtml

I have not personally heard this, but it would be typical for the tyrant to again trample on our Constitution. Bush has been a liar and deciever from the beginning, like the Devil. He cares nothing about our "rights".
