I went to the E.R. and they made me take urine samples to test if I was pregnant or not. It is just a routine they do for every female patient that enters the E.R. so anyway I told them I was a virgin so there wasn't no need to be tested. One of the nurses said hun I still need you to give me the urine samples. She didn't believe me. All of the nurses doubted my word but they just went along with it. Before she tested the urine she said If this test happens to be positive then your the virgin mary and they all laughed. When the test turned out to be negative she said "Wow.. your 19 do you know that you are rare? GOOD FOR YOU."

I'm kind of proud but disappointed because i'm rare. The doctor re-tested the test in the room. He doubted me too but when it turned out negative he patted me on my back. I think is the urban area where i live that has to do a lot with it. I was at a community hospital in the south bronx. Not to many 19 year old virgins walking around in the bronx huh?

yes it is. The age difference is too big right now. that's not a bad age difference once you're older but now it's pretty bad. you guys are in two completely different stages in your life. I know you don't realize it fully now, but when you become 19, you will see just how young and immature you are at 15. everyone recognizes that. you really dont need to be with someone that much older right now. and i know he says hes comfortable not having sex because youre not ready for it, but that won't last. it doesn't matter if he's a good guy, preachers kid, or captain of the football team, ALL boys get to a point where they want sex. I promise you that will become a problem in your relationship at one point. I dont want you to end up getting hurt but I don't see how this situation will actually turn out well.

You are to be congratulated for your morals. It isn't easy in today's society to remain a virgin. With the constant barrage from the media, peer pressure, and just plain curiosity driven hormones teenage sex is almost a forgone conclusion.
Don't take it personally about the ER staff. They get many people who say I can't be pregnant, or I can't have a sexually transmitted disease because I don't have sex. But then the test comes back positive. And then they still try to put up the front that they don't do it. That sort of thing makes ER staffs jaded.
You are a good young lady, keep your head about you, and all will be well.

I not only believe you, but I want you to know that you should be proud of yourself. Being a native New Yorker, I know the Bronx and what goes on there. You are rare, and that also makes you precious.

Well, even though you said you weren't, they have to do it anyways, it's a part of laws and regulations. If they don't do it and someone finds out, they can be in a heap of trouble. But it is hard to believe because so many people loose their virginity so early, which in my opinion, shouldn't be happening. I do say good for you, because you've been able to resist. I personally want to lose it when I am wed. :)

But the reason is because so many teens are not virgins (especially in the US) so yes, it is a very rare thing.

In healthcare, we are taught never to take anyone's word for anything! Dont take it personally. But the nurses could have been a little more sensitive. That's the thing with nurses. For the most part they dont care about the people they were sworn to care for.

they shouldn't have laughed and said you would be the virgin mary that was crude... it isn't hard to belive it is different tho nothing wrong with you being a vigin.. when you do decide you will be much more ready for it
