I've heard of the imfamous Amazonian Vampire fish......it's the one that swims into the male penis, or anal cavity and feeds on your body tissue, ewwwwwwwwwwww (honest, look it up!) There are also Vampire Tetra's....here's a link to a page: http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/group/2650/product.web

Never heard of a vampire oscar though, nor could I find anything online about anything by that name.

Good luck!!!

I've heard of a vampire pleco...
I did some websearching and found:

** a small South American catfish, along with a whole group of related parasitic catfish from the same region, called a vampire fish
http://www.angelfire.com/mo2/animals1/catfish/candiru.html
** lampreys are sometimes called vampire fish since they feed by attaching to larger fish and sucking their blood
http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/caer/ce/eek/critter/invert/lamprey.htm

No mention of a vampire oscar. Sorry. It may be a regional nickname for the fish. If you could get a latin name from your source, you can find the actual species the nick refers to and probably get as much information as you want.
