According to the media, it's because he stuck his hand between the stall in the bathroom and his feet bumped some undercover police officer's that was in the stall next to him.

Why was there an undercover police officer in the next stall and what does this have anything to do with homosexuality or even sexuality to begin with?

Sorry, but I am so confused and I feel so stupid even asking this but I truly have no idea.

The senator was using the stall next to another man, his foot accidentally "bumped" the other man and, it is not a sign of wanting sex, as one says, "she knows" how may I ask? has she been down that road?
The arresting officer has been on the carpet before for arresting twelve other people for the same thing, no evidence other then his word has ever been offered, it did not say how many went to court or how many were convicted, how many released.

The arresting officer is being charged with "attempted allurement" as well he should be, as for the disorderly conduct, the officer is lucky he didn't try and arrest me o some of my buddies, he would be in a hospital today.

It's a sad day an officer of the law, with all the rampant crime, has to troll the toilets of an airport to catch people doing crimes, is he afraid to go out on the streets a do a job like he's suppose to, what a shame.

Those that want to start rumors go ahead but, remember, you just as bad as that cop. He sounds like a slap happy cop with nothing better to do and, by the way, he has been called on the carpet before for these arrests.

According to the arresting officer, Senator Craig was staring into his (the officer's) bathroom stall, long enough for the officer to note some of his physical characteristics. The officer claims that Craig tapped his foot to get his attention and then waved his hand underneath the stall. Apparently, these are the classic techniques for 'bathroom cruising' and it happens enough that they have officers installed in airport bathrooms to bust people for it. I believe the biggest problem was that Senator Craig initially admitted wrongdoing when they busted him. I really don't know the full details, but I know some blogs have already posted the officer's arrest report on-line.

I heard it was because Craig was 1.smashing a fly or 2. tapping "I am a horny Senator" in Morse code on the floor of his stall. Whichever, Craig says that the cop misunderstood his signals. I hope this will be cleared up soon in court.

Apparently there had been reports of him doing this sort of thing before....and I think it was a bit more involved than just "bumping" his feet. He mad eye contact with the officer through the crack in the door before going into the next stall. The whole reason there was an undercover officer in the bathroom in the first place was because of prior complaints about Craig approaching men in the airport bathroom and apparently it always started with him playing "footsie" under the wall between the stalls. This is not the first time he has been accused of sexual misconduct. Back in '82 he was accused of something involving "working girls"

I don't know what "media" you got that from...
The media I saw stated that the police were operating an undercover sting to try and clean up a public men's room that was known to be used by gay men in the area to solicit sex from other men (quite common among the gay male community). During the sting, one of the men who came into the restroom and asked the police officer for sex was the Senator. In that area, soliciting a person who is the same sex as yourself is a crime. It is called lewd behavior.
Another person who was caught in almost the exact same manner was former "Wham" member George Michael, who was arrested after asking a police officer to have oral sex with him in a public restroom.

when people want to have sex for money with other people they nudge the other persons foot. this i know.
I believe there are other non-verbal communications between them
I heard the police officer responded with a similar movement- basically saying 'yes'
the cop was a male
he was arrested for soliciting
