you would if a Sophmore in school refer to Junior and Senior classmates as Sempai.

i think of a scene from azumanga daioh, when Chiyo Chan is upset that her under classmate wont call her "sempai" {{an honorable term for a colleague or fellow student of a higher position or grade}} cause she wus so small an cute haha, cute scene.. ♥
