Grundle! You are going to make me look like a bad girl.. I promise I didn't do anything wrong though!

I was dating a drug addict at the time, and one night, he came home while I was asleep and I woke up to him standing in the doorway of my bedroom staring at me. I turned on the light and asked him what was going on and he just started screaming at me. Calling me names I would never post on this site. I stood up to get the phone and call my brother and he picked me up and threw me into the bathroom. I hit my head on a soap dish and passed out. When I woke up, he was trashing the house. I started to call the police and he broke my phone. (That is when I slapped him. Important later.) I tried to get out and he blocked the door. Finally the neighbors called because of the rukus, and I thought I was saved. They seperated us, and I told them everything. Well, HE denied pushing me and wrecking the house. Claimed I did it all and was crazy. Since I admitted to smacking him, I went to jail for domestic violence. I spent almost 24 hours there. The judge laughed when I came to see him to get out, because it was rediculous I was arrested (he had the boyfriends record in front of him, and that is what made him laugh, a crack head VS small red head with no record? yeah......) I was lucky though, it is not on my record. One of the cops who arrested me was a friend of the family, and came with me to court on my behalf. He knew the boyfriend should have been in jail and not me.

But it is Ok. He got arrested for a DUI and car theft later that night when he decided to take my car out for a spin. Idiot.

I've spent almost 12 years in prison now. I went in February 1996 and I'm due to get out June 30, 2011. They work me 8 hours a day.

The good part is that I get to leave everyday at 4:00 PM and don't have to go back until 7:30 the next morning, They let me out on weekends and give me two weeks off every ten or eleven weeks.

By now you've probably guess that I work in a prison You'd be right, I'm an ABE teacher working with adult males who read below a 6th grade level. I hope to retire in 2011, but I do find my job rewarding.

Having the experience of working in such an environment, I know I would definitely NOT want to go to prison. However, if unfortunate circumstances would occur and I would be sent to prison, I have learned about some of the "survival skills" I'd need. But I certainly don't plan on breaking the law!

I was arrested and stayed in jail for about 8 hours.. Does that count? I forgot to pay a ticket for an expired inspection sticker required by the state of Texas. I was pregnant with my 4th child and was having problems and had to go on medical leave.. So out of work, 4 kids to feed, living on my ex's menial paycheck, so yeah, very tight...it went into warrant... I gave birth and my daughter was about 4 days old and this copper decided to run my plates, arrest and handcuff me if front of my children, and take my butt to jail. Don't you love how some cops excel at taking dangerous criminals off the street? Needless to say, they took their time and I had to use the 160 bucks I had left in the world to pay the fine so I could get out... : (

I spent the night in Jail for busting into an outdoor rec pool and swimming naked. When the cops came they were all like, dont come out of the pool until we get your cloths. Then they wrote me a ticket, and after they left I jumped in again. Thats when they took me to jail.

I spend time in jail every day..... I work in one as a nurse... Quite an interesting place to work sometimes and what a diverse group of people I meet.
I do have a friend in Prison that I have visited a few times as well.
Neither is something that I ever want to experience.

No, I never spent time in Jail, but I did take a couple of Administration of Justice classes in College. I found out what goes on in prison. No way I'd want to go there for any reason.

Technically, yes. I spent about 5 minutes locked in a cell at the courthouse downtown when I was a kid during Law Day.

P.S. If anyone HASN'T been in a jail cell, be thankful you didn't see the toilet. = /
