Yes...but if you do this what good does it do when you want to research an old answer? Kind of defeats the whole purpose right?

Yes, it stops trolls going through your whole list of answers/questions and reporting them
As for the answerer above - Private only hides the list in your profile, anyone can still see your questions in the normal lists ... unless you specifically block a person.

I know I dont! If you hide your questions from other people, then how are you going to get any answers? I think this feature was dumb when yahoo crreated it, and I dont use it. I know that others can still see your questions in your profile unless you block them. I still dont use the feature Mr Smart Pants!

I only recently hid mine, because I was getting violations for resolved questions and answers. I've already been deleted once, and I don't want to go through that again.
