I've been seeing this picture all around the internet and I really CAN NOT think of what this animal is. Some one help me out....

Everyone claims this is a big sea turtle.... yeah right!

Sea turtle info

Size: smallest sea turtle at 30 inches long and weighing 80 to 100 pounds. The largest sea turtle is the leatherback - an adult can reach over six and a half feet long and weigh over 2,000 pounds. Adult female and male sea turtles are the same size.

Largest: The leatherback sea turtle reaching a length of over 2.7 m (8.8 ft) and weight of 900 kg (2,000 lb), and is the world's fourth largest reptile, behind the larger crocodiles.

Well, if you click on the link, it actually says" www.ebaumsworld.com/2007/06/GIANT-TURTLE-001- so it's probably a giant sea turtle according to them, but to me it looks like a whale that was stripped/ or lost its teeth, and got burned by maybe some kind of underwater volcano.
Hey, it's far fetched, but it's possible!

The consensus seems to be the belly of a humpback whale based on other photos. Check this link for more photos and commentary: http://www.cryptomundo.com/cryptozoo-news/turtle-beaching/

A quick autopsy would tell for absolutely sure who is right. A turtle would have some skeletal remains of the shell as it rots.

Considering that this happened several months ago and there is little follow-up, I'm betting it was something pretty common, like a whale carcass.

Looks like a whale to me. Aside from basking and whale sharks, nothing else gets that big, and that doesn't look much like a shark.

It looks like a whale carcass. The top part that looks like treads is actually the UNDERSIDE of the whale.

that's not a turtle i donno what it is.. it looks like a sea animal of some kind
