I planted my plastic pumpkin, but mum is the word.

I'm thinking about mums. Just got some ornamental kale, which I've always wanted, so those will go in first.
But the plastic pumpkin is too much! Halloween is 2 months away. (Even tho the supermarket has all the Halloween candy and decorations out for sale already.) "To everything there is a season." I don't like rushing things. The stores do it just to make a buck. I bet half the people who buy the candy in Sept. eat it before Halloween ever rolls around, and just have to buy more. I know I did, in the days when I could still eat candy!

Well, I sure haven't done those things...but then I am phasing the flowers (except for perennials) out of my gardens entirely so that I can put more area under grass. I would much rather spend an extra hour cutting grass each time, then waste half a day weeding flower beds!
As for the fall wreath...it goes on the door about a week before Thanksgiving, then gets beads and other sparklies added for Christmas.

I will plant mums in the next couple of months & my new colorful wreath goes up soon. It's too hot down here in the south to plant mums. I love the many beautiful colors of mums.

We're still in triple digits here in California so it's a tad early to be putting out our fall decorations. However, the stores are loaded with all new merchandise and decorations. September is kind of a loss but come October everybody will be putting their stuff out. I LOVE MY PORCH!

No mums yet. I plan to do some major landscaping in a year or two, so no need to plant and re-plant. No wreath, it is still like summer here.

Yep, in my area it is much too soon to put out the Fall items. We are still in the ninety's and it does not get Fall-like here until late September.
